Are you passionate about helping young people unlock their potential? We're looking for a dedicated SEN Teaching Assistant to join our team in the lovely town of Ringwood.

Position: SEN Teaching AssistantLocation: Ringwood, DorsetHourly Rate: £11.72 - £12.78Annual Salary: £20,941.30 - £22,835.30 (Term-Time Only)Contract: Permanent, 40 hours per week, term-time only

About the Role:

You'll be supporting students aged 11-16 with special educational needs, including Autism. Working closely with our expert teaching staff, you'll assist in the classroom and participate in outdoor activities like Bushcraft and life skills, playing a key role in the academic and personal development of our students.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Provide personalized support, ensuring students' safety and well-being.
  • Help students achieve goals outlined in their Education and Healthcare Plans (EHCPs).
  • Implement positive behaviour management techniques tailored to individual needs.
  • Maintain detailed records of incidents, accidents, and health and safety matters.
  • Encourage teamwork and foster positive social interactions among students.

  • Show patience and skill in managing challenging behaviours.

  • Possess basic numeracy, literacy, and ICT skills.
  • GCSEs in Maths and English (Grade 4 or equivalent) are preferred but not essential.
