Role - Deskside Support Analyst aka 2nd Line Support / 2nd/3rd Line Support, Desktop Support, VIP Support Engineer

Salary - 45 - 53K + 12.5% Pension + Bonus (15 - 18% Typical) + 28 Days Holiday rising to 30 + Private Health / Dental

Location - London - West End 4 days Office

The role

Very much a 2nd line deskside role working in a bank. Key responsibilties include: deskside support by resolving user incidents and inquiries related to equipment and applications. Analyze incident trends and recommend improvements. Maintain and update procedures for hardware and software installation, configuration, and testing. Configure Windows user profiles, MS Outlook, and VDI on PCs, laptops, and virtual desktops. Perform site checks, deskside verifications, and facilities setup for presentations. Manage deskside equipment, including IP assignments and printer setups, while adhering to standards and policies. Support patch management for PCs, laptops, and virtual desktops. Administer endpoint agents and provide first-tier network, mobile device, video conference, and application deployment support.

What are they after

  • Proven experience as an IT support or similar position in the financial sector.
  • Proficiency in supporting and troubleshooting Windows 11, M365 and IP phone systems.
  • Experience administering and supporting online, mission-critical systems.
  • Experience dealing with end-user requests and managing quality expectations.
  • Ability to provide user training and prepare documentation and procedures.
  • Experience with system installation, configuration and analysis. 
  • Excellent communication skills to effectively interact with other team members and business users.?
  • Knowledge of IT solutions for helpdesk, inventory and change management
  • Knowledge of IT solutions for security control, vulnerability scanning and patch management.
  • Basics of Windows Server, RHEL Linux and VMware.
  • Basics of networks and cloud computing.?
  • Basic coding and scripting skills.
