Cedar are recruiting a Gross Margin FP&A Analyst for a leading energy & utilities company who are growing rapidly on the back of ethical credentials and excellent customer service. It is this growth that has led them to create this new role.

Reporting to the Head of FP&A, the Gross Margin FP&A Analyst will act as a Business Partner to the Sales, Accounting, Commercial, Regulatory and Data teams and will provide key insight & strategic guidance to the business as it seeks to hit its Gross Margin targets and other commercial goals. Key duties will include:

  • Lead in the analysis and accounting of Energy Revenue and Cost of Sales ensuring that the business has rigorous Gross Margin accounting practices embedded.
  • Business Partnering with Commercial, Regulatory and Data Teams to ensure collaborative inputs / outputs for forecasting and regulatory submissions.
  • Develop Customer Behaviour analysis to monitor growth, portfolio dynamics & other metrics.
  • Embed a suite of Customer Lifetime Value metrics including insight, analysis & decision support.
  • Support the preparation of forecasts, target setting, budgets and 5-year plans; e.g gathering inputs through engagement with the business, reporting draft / final outcomes, providing commentary etc...

The successful candidate for the position of Gross Margin FP&A Analyst will:

  • Possess key experience gained from working in the Retail Energy industry, ideally focused on Gross Margin analysis.
  • Be a strong modeller of all forms of data and enjoy bringing this to life with non-finance stakeholders.
  • Possess (ideally) an accounting qualification (ACA / CIMA / ACCA).
  • Enjoy working with Excel / SQL to create better analytical output that can be more widely interrogated.
  • Seek a role that they can shape whilst having overall responsibility for a key business area.

Salary & Package: £80000 - £95000 + 10% bonus + 26 days holiday + a strong benefits package.
