The role - Truck Operatives

Fresh People are currently recruiting for Truck Operatives for a fresh produce business based in Dartford, Kent. This is a full-time, on-site position working as part of the operations team responsible for the safe and efficient movement of stock and equipment across the facility. The role will include working within the warehouse and production areas, supporting packing operations and maintaining safety standards across the site.

The Person

Ideally, candidates will have experience working in a warehouse or packing environment, with a flexible approach to tasks and a strong commitment to health and safety. A good understanding of English is essential, along with strong teamwork, communication, and attention to detail. Candidates must hold a valid Power Pallet Truck (PPT) licence.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities

* Supply and remove product and equipment to and from production lines using an electric pallet truck

* Strap pallets during production and support packing operations as required

* Load and unload vehicles under the direction of the line manager

* Use a handheld scanner to move product through the internal system

* Remove waste from warehouse and production areas, ensuring cleanliness is maintained

* Carry out cleaning duties during and at the end of each shift

* Report any unsafe practices, incidents, or hazards to supervisors and assist in investigations

* Follow all health & safety rules and ensure proper use and storage of equipment

* Maintain good housekeeping in work areas and assist other departments as needed

* Complete any other duties requested by line management
