Role: Senior Commercial Manager
Location: Central London
Salary: £90,000 to £110,000 + car & package

An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Senior Commercial Manager to join a leading main contractor delivering a high profile, heavy civil engineering project in the South East. The Senior Commercial Manager will be responsible for the commercial management of a major subcontract package which includes bulk earthworks, piling and foundations, ground improvement works, retaining walls and more.

As the Senior Commercial Manager, you'll be overseeing a team of Quantity Surveyors working across the project and taking overall responsibility of the work throughout the full life cycle. This will include contract negotiations, procurement, tendering, subcontractor management, settlement of final accounts, claims management and dispute resolution. You'll be working closely with the project leadership team and some of your key duties will include:

Utilising your extensive experience of the NEC contract to support the project team with any disputes and claims across the project
Providing support to the project team with all contractual and commercial related matters
Oversee the commercial management of the project through the full life cycle
Provide input the value engineering solutions
Report on the projects commercial position to the project leadership team
Provide support to the wider project team where possible
Act as a mentor to junior members of the team
The Senior Commercial Manager will need to be able to demonstrate an in depth understanding of the NEC contract and have previously worked on heavy civil engineering projects. Experience working on piling, retaining walls or bulk earthworks will be an advantage. You'll also need excellent communication skills and live within a reasonable commute of their office in Central London.
