Role: Finance Business Partner

Duration: Permanent

Salary: £43,000 to £48,000 depending on experience and geographical location

Hours: Home based with travel twice a month to Birmingham, Nottingham or London

Location: Head office - Birmingham

Qualification: Part-Qualified - CIPFA, ACCA or CIMA, fully qualified or qualified by experience

Sector Requirements: Candidates for this role must have experience working in charity/not for profit, public sector, education, housing or civil service (if you have not worked directly in these sectors then you must be able to demonstrate an exceptional knowledge of their structure and workings.)

Duties of the Finance Business Partner:

  • Have an in-depth understanding of the activity within the External Affairs directorate and provide a high standard of support to its stakeholders via exceptional Finance Business Partnering Provision
  • Work with fast changing and progressive directorate where the strategy is at the forefront of the work
  • Quickly adapt to change and new concepts, manage finances for schemes/projects that are in their infancy that are often prototype in their nature and be able to implement financial structure for the projects
  • Partnering and working with predominantly non-finance colleagues, often with short turnaround times
  • Take ownership of producing the management accounts for the EA directorate and conducting thorough variance analysis ensuring high accuracy of income
  • Provide ongoing communication with stakeholders to prevent delay to pilot schemes/projects which would need to be met with income adjustments and legacy
  • Support in the generation and dissemination of organisation's management accounts
  • Support on bids and tenders for new projects (staffing costs and TUPE etc. in the first instance)
  • Responsibility for leading the budget and forecasting cycles within the EA team
  • Conduct regular meetings with all key stakeholders
  • Work with the Heads of Areas to ensure practices are in place for reliable income tracking
  • Support Fund-raising team with developing practices within the CRM system for clear visibility of income
