MC Technical Recruitment is currently looking to recruit a Shift Team Leader to support the operations, and the ongoing engineering development and maintenance of the Compressed BioMethane (CBM) plants in Swindon, with the intention that the plant is maintained and operated to the highest possible performance, quality, health and safety, and environmental standards.

As the Shift Team Leader, you will be responsible for:

The day-to-day management of both the plant, the operations technicians and Assistant Shift Team Leader
Lead and manage the team's performance to ensure the team is working efficiently and effectively
Provide training & coaching to team
Standing in for other operations team members when required, with knowledge of their roles and responsibilities
Lead and oversee all shift activities including Plant and Control Room operations, to ensure that all activities are undertaken to the highest performance, quality, health and safety, and environmental standards
Ensure that works are undertaken in accordance with safe methods of work, using standard operating procedures, correct PPE, and safety assessments
Implement H&S policies & processes and identify opportunities for process improvement
Organise and undertake, in consultation with the Head of Production Operations, all required work activities, ensuring that tasks are prioritised and completed in a timely way to ensure that the plants schedules are fully met
Support the Head of Production Operations with plant performance issues and resolutions
Full understanding of the CBM process and understanding of the DCS control system operation and materials required to maintain production
Leadership of technical assessments of plant performance and any operational failings
Preparation of and recording quantities of all materials needed (inc. chemicals, gases, feedstocks, etc.)
Recording quantities of all waste materials produced
Support the site maintenance operations and ensuring safety systems of work are in place for these activities
Contribute to the engineering design, development, and implementation of new and existing equipment
Other duties as required
To be considered for this role you should have:

Ideally, Process, Electrical, Instrumentation/Controls or Mechanical qualifications (HNC or above) or previous experience in a process or technical role
Fully understand the operation and equipment of the CBM process
IOSH Managing Safely or equivalent or higher safety qualification
The ability to work safely, champion and contribute to plant safety (e.g. Hazops, risk assessments, use of safety equipment, etc), and ensure the safety of others
Work flexibly in terms of working patterns, location, and reporting lines, to ensure that the plant is manned to required levels at all times, including being on call.
Significant experience in a related industry (5 years) (i.e., waste, energy-from-waste, or process environments)
