JOB CONTEXT:

Working from our Chesterfield office and reporting to the Sales Manager, you will develop and implement an efficient logistics system and processes for the business.

Supporting and working closely with the Procurement and Export Account teams, you will ensure that orders are imported and exported efficiently and within HMRC and International customs rules and guidelines.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

* Arrangement of shipments from various locations, worldwide via sea and air, ensuring full compliance from door to door. This includes creating and issuing the correct paperwork for each shipment as required through law and company compliance.

* Regularly liaise with freight forwarders to ensure shipments are on track.

* Manage and train a team of export administrators to ensure the department is providing an efficient and professional service to its customers, both internal and external.

* Operate clear and efficient systems and procedures and regularly monitor these to ensure full compliance with both Government requirements and company policies and guidelines.

* Resolve any issues with shipments as required to ensure no delivery is delayed.

* Maintain records / full traceability of all shipments in line with regulatory requirements and be able to provide such information as when required.

* Work closely alongside the Procurement Team to ensure Supplier deliveries are received via the most appropriate method.

* Ensure that the Export Team and the Procurement Team are regularly updated with movements of deliveries and advise of any delays / issues.

* Be able to prioritise workload to ensure urgent shipments are focused upon and closely monitor requirements from other departments to ensure no delays.

* Provide weekly feedback to other departments on the status of deliveries from both suppliers and to our customers.

* Maintain a live system of all shipments to show current status of deliveries, and work closely with all other departments to ensure no delays.

* Maintain records of costs / charges for shipments and analyse data and provide feedback / suggestions and improvements to the Senior Management Team.

* Negotiate rates / contracts with existing suppliers and look to continually improve relationships with suppliers.

* Liaise closely with our service provider in India for all shipments arriving to our facility in India, and ensure all paperwork is received in good time.

* Ensure knowledge of international customs and legal requirements is kept up to date and awareness of legislation is always current.

Benefits

Working Hours: 08:30am to 5pm (Monday to Friday)

Salary: £27,000 to £33,000 per annum (Dependent on Experience)

25 days holiday plus bank holidays
