Assistant Accountant

I am currently seeking a dedicated Assistant Accountant to support the finance department in a growing family-owned company, reporting directly to the Financial Controller.
This role is perfect for someone who is meticulous, enjoys working with numbers, and is looking to grow their accounting expertise within a supportive environment.
Day-to-day of the role:
- Managing sales and purchase invoicing to ensure financial accuracy.
- Maintaining the sales ledger and purchase ledger.
- Performing bank reconciliations to keep financial records in check.
- Overseeing credit control processes to ensure timely payments.
- Executing bank payments with precision and accuracy.
- Assisting in the preparation of Profit & Loss (P&L) statements.
- Conducting balance sheet checks to ensure financial integrity.
- Processing timesheets for accurate payroll management.
- Onboarding new customers and setting up their financial accounts.
- Completing monthly reconciliation of the balance sheet to maintain financial health.
Required Skills & Qualifications:
- A solid understanding of accounting principles and financial reporting.
- Excellent organisational skills and a keen eye for detail.
- Ability to multitask and meet tight deadlines.
- Strong communication skills for effective cross-departmental collaboration.
