About the Role:
We are seeking a Lead Ergonomist to play a key role in a groundbreaking infrastructure project. This role focuses on integrating ergonomics and human factors into the design, development, and operations of a high-profile transportation system. Working at the cutting edge of innovation, you'll ensure safety, efficiency, and human-centered design across the project lifecycle.

Key Responsibilities:

* Manage multiple contractors to ensure ergonomics requirements are met in line with project specifications.

* Provide technical expertise and assurance on ergonomics to internal and external stakeholders.

* Lead the integration of human performance into the design and operational processes.

* Analyse and predict the impact of new technologies on human behavior, especially in high-performance environments.

* Collaborate with cross-disciplinary teams to minimise risks and optimise safety and performance.

* Develop operational models that account for human factors in both system and organisational design.

What We're Looking For:

Qualifications:

* Chartered member of the Chartered Institute of Ergonomics and Human Factors (CIEHF), or equivalent experience.

Skills & Knowledge:

* Deep understanding of railway engineering, health & safety, and system safety.

* Expertise in designing processes for new technology integration.

* Financial and commercial knowledge of Human Factors contracts.

* Strong ability to produce and assure high-quality reports and strategic documents.

Experience:

* Proven track record in safety-critical industries, particularly managing complex, multi-stage engineering projects.

* Experience in leading ergonomics integration into engineering design and ensuring compliance in high-stakes environments.

* History of working effectively within interdisciplinary teams.
