Are you currently on the lookout for a busy Transport Manager role?

This role would be well suited to individuals with a background/keen interest in securing a managerial role within Logistics or Transport Planning who are flexible, organised and used to working in a very demanding environment.

Job Title: Transport Manager

Salary: 42k to 48K

Hours: Monday to Friday (Occasional Saturday work required)

Location: Office based - Slough

Please note: Full Drivers Licence required

Transport Manager - Key Responsibilities

  • Managing a large fleet of drivers and various vehicle types plus a small team of Coordinators and Administration staff
  • Being on call when required within a 24/7 operation
  • Managing drivers throughout the day and ensuring a full and effective de-brief is completed, passing any identified actions to the relevant person or department.
  • Route Planning working towards maximum efficiency
  • Constantly communicating with other departments including Fleet and Vehicle Maintenance to plan effectively
  • Arranging third-party transport and temporary staff as and when required.
  • Ensure full compliance with the Operators Licence at all times.
  • Ensure all transport operations are in accordance with documented Health and Safety procedures and not in contravention of any legislation and guidelines affecting the public and the environment.

Desirable

  • Previous Transport/Logistics or Depot Management experience
  • Exposure to managing a team of drivers and office staff in a busy environment
  • CPC qualification or the willingness to undergo this certification
  • Experience in Hazardous waste, Recycling, Waste management or Building Materials
  • Experience within Logistics/Freight/Courier or Perishable goods
  • Previous working experience within a Collections based Transport Service
  • Full UK drivers licence with access to your own Vehicle
  • Ability to settle quickly within a demanding leadership role
