We are seeking an enthusiastic and passionate English Teacher to join our dynamic and supportive team at a forward-thinking secondary school in Manchester. This is a fantastic opportunity for a talented educator to inspire students and foster a love for literature, language, and learning.
Key Responsibilities: - Plan, prepare, and deliver engaging and challenging lessons across Key Stages 3 and 4.
- Inspire students to develop a passion for English, improving their reading, writing, and analytical skills.
- Monitor and assess student progress, providing regular feedback and setting ambitious targets.
- Work collaboratively with colleagues in the English department to create a cohesive curriculum and share best practices.
- Support the learning and development of students of all abilities, ensuring lessons are differentiated to meet individual needs.
- Contribute to the wider school community through participation in extracurricular activities, such as drama or creative writing clubs.
- Maintain high expectations of behavior and academic performance, promoting a positive learning environment.
Key Requirements: - Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) and a degree in English or a related field.
- Experience teaching English in a secondary school setting (NQTs/ECTs are welcome to apply).
- A genuine passion for English and the ability to engage and motivate students.
- Strong classroom management skills and a commitment to creating an inclusive and supportive learning environment.
- Excellent communication, teamwork, and organizational skills.
Desirable: - Experience teaching English at Key Stage 5 (A-level).
- Familiarity with the latest educational research and approaches to English teaching.
- Experience with intervention strategies to support students who require additional help.
