Integrum Power Engineering - Part of the OCU Group, is an electrical engineering design & build contractor and ICP specialising in high voltage power transmission & distribution projects. We are recruiting for a Senior Civil Design Engineer to join our growing Engineering team.

About the job

The Senior Civil Deign Engineer will be responsible for supporting in the design, development and coordination of civil and structural design within IPE's project portfolio. Your expertise will contribute to the successful execution of projects and the delivery of high-quality engineering solutions.

Senior Civil Design Engineer responsibilities:

* Create and coordinate conceptual engineering drawings using CAD packages and sketches for drafting.

* Deliver efficient, effective and quality services by way of flexible working and the acceptance of responsibility.

* Develop project plans, including feasibility studies, cost estimates, and timelines for construction projects.

* Ensure that projects comply with relevant codes, regulations, and standards. Obtain necessary permits and approvals.

* Conduct site visits to assess construction progress, quality, and adherence to design specifications.

* Work closely with designers and other professionals to integrate various project elements.

* Monitor and track project budgets and costs, identifying and addressing any deviations from the original plan.

* Identify potential risks and challenges associated with projects and develop strategies to mitigate them.

* Monitor design progress and manage design program of sub consultants and contractors.

* Identify and support opportunities for cost savings, efficiency and business improvement.

* Collaborate with design and construction teams, and other professionals to integrate civil and structural designs into the overall project designs.

* Conduct inspections and assessments to ensure that construction activities align with approved structural designs.

* Ensure all safety, quality, technical and commercial requirements are met.

* Identify opportunities for technical and business process improvement and innovation, developing business cases where required.

This role allows a level of freedom to make the role your own and a chance to work across a varied range of design solutions. You will support the full lifecycle from leading engagement with new and existing clients and supporting winning of new works, to design delivery and handover at practical completion with a target of safer by design.

Support all types of projects from tendering to handover, ensuring work is completed to time, to required quality standard and within budget.

Representing Integrum at national level, ensuring all enquires are handled in the appropriate manner and a positive image of the company is always maintained.

What you will need to be successful:

* Degree in civil engineering or a related field.

* Proficiency in engineering software and tools.

* Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.

* Excellent communication and teamwork abilities.

* A sound knowledge of applicable policies, standards and national legislation.

* Broad and extensive experience in the development of engineering technology.

* Experience of working in railway/energy infrastructure management or a similar safety critical environment.

* Proficiency in civil engineering project management software, such as Civil 3D, Telka TEDDS and CityEngine, as well as CAD.

* Outstanding self-reliance, resourcefulness and initiative, flexible approach and excellent time management.
