About the Business

An opportunity to be a Risk & Controls Analyst for a global services business based in Solihull, who have strong family values and really look after their employees.

Main Duties:

As a Risk & Controls Analyst, your main duties include:

  • Review balance sheet control accounts and balance sheet reporting
  • Actively contribute to creating the Annual Assurance Plan by identifying focus areas and introducing new ideas and methods.
  • Monitor variances in balance sheet accounts and identify areas requiring detailed reviews or further investigation.
  • Monitor compliance requirements across all divisions within the group, create compliance guidance, and enhance reporting requirements to improve transparency around compliance activities.
  • Take ownership of detailed time management and project planning for smaller projects, aligning with the annual plan and supporting larger, more complex projects.
  • Establish and maintain relationships with relevant internal and external stakeholders.
  • Assist with the Group enterprise risk process.
  • Maintain and coordinate updates of CCO Risk Assessments.
  • Introduce and maintain Risk Control Frameworks, providing support to divisional finance teams as needed.
  • Assess and monitor key accounting processes and controls across the group.
  • Implement best practices for documenting accounting processes and controls across the group.
  • Produce monthly assurance reports and present quarterly updates to the CFO/Director of Finance.
  • Ensure that group corporate policies are maintained, updated, and communicated appropriately.
  • Coordinate periodic updates of the Head Office data map and related Head Office GDPR policies.
  • Support the embedding and maintenance of the Financial Control Framework within the new risk management system.
  • Assist in the rollout of the new risk management tool.
  • Conduct risk assessments and policy rollouts in line with legislative changes.

Location / Office / Culture

The role is in a newly renovated office based in Solihull. It is hybrid working, with 3 days in the office.

What We Are Looking For

The ideal candidate will have:

  • Technical Skills: Knowledge in controls and risk management, or substantial accounting experience in financial or management accounts functions.
  • Technical Proficiency: Proficient in using MS Excel, Word, PowerPoint, and confident in learning and utilizing new systems.
