About the Role:
TQR Plymouth is excited to present a unique opportunity for a seasoned Design Engineer to join a dynamic team. This role involves designing custom marine components, transforming specifications into detailed, manufacturable designs. Ideal candidates will have a strong background in engineering solutions and a deep understanding of manufacturing processes.
Key Responsibilities:
* Design and develop marine shaft line components and propellers.
* Produce detailed 2D and 3D CAD designs under the guidance of the Engineering Manager.
* Determine requirements in collaboration with customers.
* Work closely with Engineering, Sales, and Manufacturing teams.
Required Skills:
* Proficiency in 2D and 3D CAD software (AutoCAD essential, Solidworks desirable).
* Experience in solving technical design challenges.
* Ability to handle projects of varying sizes, timelines, and complexities.
* Experience in designing components and assemblies (marine industry experience is a plus).
* Knowledge of design for manufacture and production environments.
* Familiarity with design codes and classification rules.
* Strong project management skills, with the ability to meet tight deadlines.
* Excellent mathematical and numerical skills.
* Relevant engineering qualification or equivalent experience.
