Support Worker - Adults with ASD

Salary: £24,500 per year - 09:00 - 17:00 Monday to Friday with no sleep-ins!

Hours: Full-time, 37.5 hours per week

The Role:

As a Support Worker for Adults with Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD), your primary responsibility is to assess and support clients in developing independent living skills, enabling them to transition from low-level support to independent living within approximately two years. You will facilitate access to services that meet clients' health, social, educational, and employment needs, considering their aspirations and requirements. Ensuring clients are accessing and managing the benefits they are entitled to is also a key aspect of the role.

Responsibilities include:

Build positive and effective working relationships and agreements with relevant external agencies.
Work from the property based in central Bath.
Support clients to engage in consultation events within the organisation and the wider community.
Maintain and update organisational administrative systems, including Petty Cash and rent/service charge collection.
Adhere to the organisation's Equal Opportunities Policy and other relevant policies.Qualifications / Requirements:

Good knowledge of challenges faced by adults with Autism and Asperger's and specialist skills to work with this client group.
Ability to undertake Needs Assessment and Planning for individuals with complex social needs.
Empathy and understanding of the needs of Julian House clients.
