Senior Urban Designer Job in Cambridge, East Anglia

Our client is an award-winning multidiscipline consultancy with a Senior Urban designer job available in its Cambridge office. This role would offer an attractive package, 25 days of holidays, 3 days of Christmas Closure covered plus bank holidays (36 days total), and a bonus scheme. Our client is now hiring Urban Designers in their Cambridge office to support their ambitious 3 years growth plan and help shape impactful projects that positively influence communities in the process.

Role & Responsibilities

Develop masterplans for projects of varying sizes, from concept through outline and reserved matters planning applications

Working on large-scale masterplan residential projects and other complex projects across various sectors

Create strategic documents, such as vision statements and design codes, to guide and protect project development

Collaborate with the Urbanism team and manage small teams, while also working independently.

Required Skills & Experience

Qualifications: Degree, Masters, or Diploma in Urban Design, Architecture, or a related field within the Built Environment

Prior experience in private practice, consultancy, or commercial housebuilding; detailed design/RMA experience preferred

Proficiency in CAD software; knowledge of Vectorworks and/or SketchUp is a plus

Familiarity with local authority guidelines and planning systems

Self-driven, detail-oriented, with strong communication skills for effective collaboration.
