Holland & Barrett is seeking a highly skilled and proactive Security Engineering Manager to join our tech team. This role is for a hands-on leader who thrives on driving security initiatives, fostering a culture of security by design, and working directly with our talented engineers and development teams. As our Security Engineering Manager, you will help shape and execute our application security strategy, ensuring our applications and data are safe and secure while supporting rapid and secure development.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop, implement, and maintain Holland & Barrett's application security strategy, aligning with business goals, compliance, and industry best practices.
- Collaborate with tech leaders to set shared security goals across development teams, managing security engineers embedded in web, mobile, and store application teams.
- Act as a hands-on leader, balancing time between managing a flat team of senior engineers and actively contributing to team projects.
- Create a secure Software Development Lifecycle (SDLC) that promotes safe and efficient application development.
- Oversee the development and upkeep of tailored security standards and guidelines, including reusable artefacts for development teams.
- Establish and enforce security policies and standards, promoting security awareness among developers and stakeholders.
Key Requirements:
Essential Requirements:
- Master's degree in Computer Science, Information Security, or a related field.
- 7+ years of experience leading application security engineers and 3+ years in software development.
- In-depth knowledge of application security principles, including secure coding, threat modelling, and access control.
- Experience with AWS, Kubernetes, Service Mesh, and API security (authentication and authorization).
- Proficiency in programming and scripting languages, including Python, Java, JavaScript, GoLang, Terraform, Cloud Formation, and CDK (AWS).
- Proven track record in designing, implementing, and managing application security programs.
- Familiarity with Agile methodologies like SCRUM, and demonstrated project management abilities for handling multiple security projects simultaneously.
