Job Title: SEN Teaching Assistant (Complex Needs)Location: Balsall Heath, B12Working Hours: 4.5 days per week (early finish on Fridays)Job Description:Josh of Aspire People are seeking a compassionate and dedicated SEN Teaching Assistant to provide one-on-one support to a child with complex needs in Year 2. This role involves working closely with both the child and the class teacher to ensure the student receives the personalized care and attention required to thrive in the classroom. The successful candidate will play a crucial role in helping the child access the curriculum and achieve their full potential in a safe and inclusive learning environment.Key Responsibilities:* Providing individualised support to a Year 2 child with complex needs, both academically and emotionally.* Assisting the class teacher in adapting lessons and materials to meet the specific needs of the child.* Working closely with other support staff, including SENCOs, to implement the child's Individual Education Plan (IEP).* Supporting the child with their daily routines and ensuring their safety and well-being at all times.* Developing and maintaining positive relationships with the child to build trust and encourage engagement in learning.* Observing and reporting on the child's progress to the class teacher and SENCO.* Encouraging social interaction and participation in classroom activities.Requirements:* Experience working as a Teaching Assistant, ideally within SEN or with children who have complex needs.* Patience, empathy, and a strong commitment to supporting children with additional needs.* Ability to work collaboratively with teaching staff, parents, and external agencies.* Understanding of the unique challenges and rewards of working with children who have complex needs.* Excellent communication skills and the ability to stay calm under pressure.This is a rewarding opportunity for someone who is passionate about making a difference in the life of a child with complex needs.To Apply:Please submit your CV detailing your experience and suitability for this role, please email me on Aspire People Limited provides services as an Education Agency and an Education Employment Business.
