Our Client are an established and highly regarded food restaurant in Edinburgh, known for their exceptional service, quality dishes, and vibrant atmosphere. As they continue to evolve and grow, we are looking for an experienced General Manager to join their team and lead us into the future with innovative ideas and a keen eye for detail.

Role Overview:

As the General Manager, you will be at the heart of their restaurant's operations, overseeing all day-to-day activities and leading a dedicated team of professionals. Your expertise in budgeting, problem-solving, and implementing change will ensure that we continue to provide an outstanding experience to our guests while maximising profitability and operational efficiency.

Key Responsibilities:

* Budgeting & Financial Management: Take full responsibility for the restaurant's financial performance, including budgeting, forecasting, and cost control. Identify areas for improvement, reduce waste, and ensure that the restaurant operates within budget.

* Menu Development & Adaptation: Work closely with the kitchen team to adapt and innovate the menu, ensuring it stays fresh, exciting, and aligned with customer preferences and seasonal trends.

* Implementing Change: Lead change initiatives, whether it's in service delivery, team processes, or operational improvements. You'll guide the restaurant through periods of transformation while keeping the team motivated and focused on our vision.

* Problem Solving & Analysis: Proactively identify issues and challenges, both operational and customer-related, and implement effective solutions. Analyse data, trends, and feedback to refine and improve our offerings and services continually.

* Team Leadership & Training: Inspire, manage, and mentor the restaurant team, ensuring high levels of performance and professionalism. Provide training, development opportunities, and create a positive work environment.

* Customer Experience: Ensure that guests receive exceptional service and that all operations run smoothly. Handle customer feedback professionally, turning challenges into opportunities for improvement.

Key Skills & Experience:

* Proven experience as a General Manager or similar leadership role within the hospitality or food service industry.

* Strong budgeting and financial management skills with the ability to drive profitability.

* A creative and strategic approach to menu development and adaptation.

* Demonstrated ability to implement change effectively and drive continuous improvement.

* Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to analyse and resolve issues efficiently.

* Exceptional communication and leadership abilities, with a passion for fostering a positive and productive work environment.

* A strong customer service ethos with a focus on delivering exceptional dining experiences.
