GSL Education are supporting a Secondary School in South Manchester that needs an SEN Learning Support Assistant to start ASAP on a full-time, permanent contract. As a Learning Support Assistant, you will play a crucial role in supporting teachers and students in KS3/KS4. This is an exciting opportunity for an enthusiastic individual to work closely with students with special educational needs (SEN), supporting their academic, emotional, and social development.

This secondary school has an excellent reputation in the local area. You'll be working in an excellent setting, supporting pupils with special educational needs and ensuring they are staying on task and can access all lesson materials.

The key responsibilities include:

Provide tailored support to students with SEN, ensuring they can access the curriculum effectively.
Assist in the development and implementation of Individual Education Plans (IEPs) and behaviour management strategies.
Collaborate with teachers, SENCO, and other staff to create an inclusive learning environment.
Deliver one-to-one and small-group interventions to address specific learning needs.
Monitor and record student progress, providing feedback to teachers and parents.

We have previously placed people from Youth Work backgrounds, sports coaches and psychology graduates as they have all gained experience in working with young people in formal settings and have transferable skills to the role of learning support assistant.

Key Requirements:

Confident working with young people
An understanding of SEN, including Autism, ADHD, and learning difficulties
Ability to inspire and motivate students
Ability to work effectively as part of a team
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
Passion for creating a positive and enriching learning environment
Have the right to work in the UK
Have an up-to-date CV with two relevant references from within the last 2 years
Have a DBS registered to the update service or be happy to apply for one with GSL Education
