The Role:

As Head of Science, you will:

Lead and manage the Science Department, ensuring high standards of teaching and learning.

Develop and implement a broad and engaging curriculum in line with national standards.

Inspire and motivate both students and staff to achieve academic excellence.

Oversee the delivery of Biology or Chemistry, ensuring lessons are engaging and innovative.

Promote a culture of continuous professional development and education and training within the department.

Monitor and evaluate student progress, implementing strategies for improvement where necessary.

Work collaboratively with senior leadership to drive whole-school initiatives.

The Ideal Candidate:

A qualified teacher with QTS and a strong background in Biology or Chemistry.

Proven leadership experience, either as a Head of Science or in a middle management role.

A passion for science and the ability to inspire students of all abilities.

Strong organisational and interpersonal skills, with the ability to manage a team effectively.

A commitment to high standards in education and training.

A strategic thinker with a vision for the future of science education.
