Shipping Coordinator - Location: UK

We are seeking a Shipping Coordinator to provide efficient coordination and administrative support to our Imports/Exports activities. This role is crucial for ensuring regulatory compliance and effective global movement of goods, meeting both internal and external customer requirements.
Day to Day of the role: - Manage all aspects of imports for the UK, including customs matters, warehousing, and IPR suspension.
- Track the ETA of imports and communicate updates to the Purchasing Department.
- Arrange export shipments across various modes of transport and prepare necessary documentation.
- Support the flow of information between departments such as Goods-in, Sales, Labs, Planning, and Shipping.
- Implement new structures and systems to support business operations.
- Maintain and update information in JDE and other business systems.
- Monitor changes in freight industry legislation and evaluate service and costs of agents.
- Provide support to other areas of Logistics as needed.
Required Skills & Qualifications: - 5 GCSEs or equivalent to Grade C (4) or above, including English and Maths.
- A minimum of two years’ experience in an office-based environment.
- Dangerous Goods by Air, Sea, or Road qualifications are desirable.
- Strong organisational skills and the ability to work independently.
- Excellent communication skills, both spoken and written.
- Experience in Import and Export is beneficial but not essential.
- Ability to build good working relationships with colleagues and customers.
- Excellent attention to detail and the ability to meet tight deadlines.
- Strong PC literacy, including proficiency in Microsoft Word & Excel.
