GSL Education Kent are seeking compassionate and dedicated SEN Teaching Assistants to join schools in Tunbridge.

As an SEN Teaching Assistant, you will be instrumental in supporting the academic and personal development of students. In this role, you will provide support to students with special educational needs (SEN) on a one-on-one basis and in small groups. This includes helping students with social, emotional, and mental health (SEMH) needs, ASC, ADHD, and other SEND requirements. You will assist teachers in delivering lessons tailored to meet each student's needs, creating an inclusive educational experience. Additionally, you will help students with their academic work and personal development, encouraging their independence and confidence. You will work closely with SENCOs and teachers to adapt lesson plans and learning strategies according to the curriculum. You will also manage student behaviour to ensure a positive learning environment and help with classroom activities when the teacher is absent, ensuring that learning continues smoothly.

Requirements

To be successful in the role of SEN Teaching Assistant, you will need:

CACHE Level 2 or 3, or NVQ Level 2 or 3 in Childcare or Teaching Assistance (preferred but not mandatory).
A degree in Education, Psychology, or a related field is desirable.
Experience working with children in an SEN environment or as a SEN Teaching Assistant is essential.
Strong communication and interpersonal skills, along with a caring and patient attitude.
Ability to work as part of a team and adapt to the unique needs of students.
