Our client, a leading residential and nursing home with a reputation for providing high-quality care and services, is seeking a skilled and passionate Sous Chef to join their team. The successful candidate will support the Head Chef in delivering nutritious, well-presented meals that cater to the diverse dietary needs of residents. Qualifications and Experience:

  • Proven Experience in Sous Chef or similar role, ideally within healthcare, residential, or hospitality settings
  • Strong Culinary Skills with a focus on nutrition, presentation, and taste
  • Knowledge of Food Safety Standards and experience working within COSHH and Health and Safety guidelines
  • Organizational and Leadership Skills to assist in kitchen management and ensure smooth operations in the Head Chef’s absence
  • Passion for Quality Service and a commitment to providing residents with enjoyable, nutritious meals

About the Role:

The Sous Chef will play a vital role in supporting the Head Chef and ensuring the efficient operation of the kitchen. Key responsibilities include:

  • Supporting Kitchen Operations alongside the Head Chef and managing the kitchen in their absence
  • Preparing and Cooking Meals to provide high-quality, nutritious dishes for residents
  • Assisting in Menu Planning to maintain budgeted food costs while offering variety and taste
  • Stocktaking and Food Rotation to manage inventory and reduce waste
  • Maintaining Compliance with food hygiene, COSHH, and Health and Safety standards, ensuring a safe kitchen environment
