Robertson Bell are seeking a skilled Senior Finance Business Partner to join this well-known ministerial department. This is a permanent, full-time position reporting into a brilliant Head of Finance and will manage one member of staff. In this role you will be responsible for working with multi-billion pound budgets and have exposure to senior leaders and Ministers.

Key Responsibilities

  • Oversee the preparation and coordination of budgets with values of up to £1bn, ensuring accurate and clear documentation and briefings to key stakeholders.
  • Serve as a key Finance Business Partner for budget holders, analysing forecasts and creating monthly financial reports tailored for the Executive team.
  • Offer expert financial and budgetary advice, working collaboratively with specialists to guide and support colleagues in making informed financial decisions.
  • Assist the Strategic Finance team with spending reviews, annual business planning, promoting cost-efficiency measures, and managing financial risks.
  • Ensure adherence to public finance regulations and assist in developing accounting advice for new initiatives.
  • Manage cash flow forecasting and reporting, coordinating with other members of the finance team.
  • Maintain the organisation's data in the government's online system ensuring it aligns with internal records.
  • Provide direct supervision and development of one Accountant.

This permanent Senior Finance Business Partner will be based at this organisations head office in central London with a requirement of 60% of your time being spent in the office. Candidates will benefit from a civil service pension scheme, flexible working and substantial annual leave.

Person Specification

  • CCAB (or equivalent) qualification required.
  • Extensive experience in financial management, reporting, or auditing.
  • Exceptional communication skills to convey complex financial information clearly.
  • Highly self-motivated and enthusiastic.
  • Dedicated to maintaining high standards of work.
