Senior Engineer - Transmission - Utilities
Location: We operate a flexible, hybrid working environment with the candidate required to travel to our Winchester office once or twice a week.

Accountabilities
* Install, test, analyse, troubleshoot and modify new Utilities transmission systems/infrastructure to achieve maximum performance and availability
* Provide technical knowledge to the development and deployment of service infrastructure, driving improved technical and service performance
* Design and drive processes to facilitate smooth and seamless deployment of new services
* Supervise the delivery of 3rd party suppliers and contractors to ensure that delivery specifications and standards meet Arqiva requirements
* Standardise equipment to minimise disruption and achieve straightforward integration with existing networks/infrastructure
* Document engineering build procedures and contribute to the continuous improvement of policies, processes and procedures
* Apply standard procedures to solve problems and identify appropriate resolution
* Adopt the role of Design Authority (DA) in area of expertise to ensure the delivery of the end to end customer solution and for less complex projects Lead Design Authority (LDA)
* Bring a commercial perspective to the operation, with a particular focus on cash management, cash preservation and optimising returns on investments made in assets and tools
* Contribute to accurate forecasting and capacity management
* Drive collaboration, innovation and continuous improvement within the field
* Provide technical leadership within the team, sharing knowledge and skills and providing mentoring support to engineers and technicians
Skills
* Transmission Engineering - Proficiency in transmission engineering principles, design and analysis
* Utilities Transmission Systems - Knowledge of transmission systems, equipment and technologies e.g. antennae, satellite systems.
* Communication skills - collaborate with cross-functional teams, present technical info and provide training or support
* Analytical and technical problem-solving skills to diagnose and resolve technical issues
* Attention to detail - keen attention to detail in identifying defects and ensuring accuracy
* Project management - ability to manage one or multiple projects or project tasks and meet deadlines
Knowledge & Experience
* Established experience in Utilities transmission or related engineering fields.
* Familiarity with industry standards and best practices for Utilities transmission.
Qualifications
A degree (or equivalent experience) in Electrical Engineering, Telecommunications, or a related field is advantageous.
