Plant Operator

Toro Recruitment is seeking a Plant Operator to support our client's energy recovery facility in Birmingham. The role of Plant Operator involves working within a three-person shift team to manage fuel operations and perform basic maintenance tasks.

Key Responsibilities of Plant Operator:

* Manage vehicle reception and perform banksman duties to ensure safe loading and unloading.

* Oversee the unloading, loading, and proper storage of fuel materials.

* Conduct fuel weighing and sampling, accurately recording results for compliance and quality control.

* Operate various machinery, including front-end loaders, telehandlers, and forklifts, ensuring efficient operations.

* Carry out basic maintenance tasks on machinery, including greasing and scheduled inspections, to maintain optimal performance.

Requirements:

* Experience as a plant operator in an industrial environment is preferred but not essential.

* A strong commitment to quality, health, safety, and environmental practices is crucial.

* Flexibility and a collaborative team spirit are necessary for this role.

* Experience with mobile plant machinery and valid licenses for FELs, telehandlers, or forklifts are advantageous but not required.

* Strong communication skills are essential for effective teamwork.

Key Information:

* Participate in a 24/7 shift rotation throughout the year

* £31,000 annual salary

* Located in Birmingham
