The Company:

Theo James are delighted to support an exciting opportunity for a QA Engineer to join one of the most prominent manufacturing plants in the North East. As operations expand at this cutting-edge facility, we are looking to enhance our Quality Engineering team. This role supports the development of a world-class, innovative Gigafactory, dedicated to mass manufacturing in the rapidly growing electric vehicle industry. This is a unique chance to be part of a large-scale, dynamic industrial development that will embrace new and emerging technologies.

Key Responsibilities:

Oversee NPI deliverables for your assigned area (electrode, cell, module, pack).
Prepare project documentation to meet key milestones and customer requirements, following the APQP methodology.
Collaborate with global teams on test plan development and the deployment of global strategies.
Develop and implement product validation plans during equipment commissioning and quality control phases.
Analyze quality data, conduct statistical analysis, and generate reports to track trends, identify improvement areas, and make data-driven decisions to enhance product quality.
Participate in product or process design and development, offering input on quality requirements and validation plans.
Perform risk assessments and contribute to failure mode and effects analysis (FMEA) to identify and mitigate quality risks.
Work closely with cross-functional teams such as manufacturing, engineering, and supply chain to resolve quality issues and implement corrective actions.
Create, review, and improve Control Plans at various stages of APQP.
Lead or support root cause analysis investigations, developing corrective and preventive actions.
Conduct thorough inspections and tests of incoming materials, in-process components, and finished products to ensure compliance with quality standards.
Mentor and develop junior members of the Quality Engineering Team.

Experience and Qualifications:

5+ years' experience in a quality role, preferably in New Product Introduction (NPI).
Familiarity with Core Tools (PPAP, APQP, MSA, FMEA, SPC) and quality methodologies.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, able to work collaboratively with cross-functional teams.
