My client are an established, independent house builder with exciting plans for growth. They build quality housing across the UK with a view to expanding their developments.

They seek a Financial Controller to join the team, working closely with the Finance Director on all areas of reporting and finance support across the business. The role requires strong management accounting skills and it is essential to have experience from the house building industry. This is a broad role perfect for someone looking to step in to a Financial Controller role.

Key responsibilities will include:

• Preparation and timely production of monthly management accounts
• Take responsibility for a variety of balance sheet / P&L areas
• Monthly production of internal VAT & CIS return
• Oversee accounts payment function and assist with subcontractor payment applications
• Providing senior management team with accurate and comprehensive financial information to guide effective decision making and financial strategy
• Support preparation of board papers and management packs
• Support development and ongoing maintenance of forecasting model
• Assist with accurate cashflow forecasting
• Become involved in a variety of ad-hoc work

This will be a busy role and once up to speed there is the opportunity to get more involved with senior and strategic areas of finance.

Successful candidates will be qualified (ACA /CIMA /ACCA) with strong technical experience, and finance experience from within the construction industry. The role requires excellent communication skills and the desire to improve processes and drive the business from within.

The salary available is up to £70,000 plus car allowance and benefits.
