Job Description:

We are looking for a dynamic and passionate English Teacher to join our team at a secondary school in Birmingham with an immediate start. This temporary position will run until the end of the academic year in July. The successful candidate will be committed to delivering high-quality teaching and fostering a love of English language and literature in students.

Key Responsibilities:

Deliver engaging and structured English lessons to students in Key Stage 3 and Key Stage 4.

Plan, prepare, and assess lessons in line with the national curriculum and school policies.

*

Provide differentiated support to students with varying levels of ability.

*

Assess and monitor student progress, providing constructive feedback and reporting on performance.

*

Foster a classroom environment that encourages a love of English, reading, writing, and critical thinking.

*

Work collaboratively with colleagues to enhance the delivery of the English curriculum.

*

Contribute to the wider school community, including extracurricular activities related to English (e.g., drama clubs, reading initiatives).

*

Ensure the safeguarding and well-being of all students in line with school policies and practices.

Requirements:

*

A relevant teaching qualification (e.g., PGCE, QTS).

*

Strong subject knowledge in English Language and Literature.

*

Previous experience teaching English at the secondary school level (NQTs are welcome to apply).

*

Passion for inspiring and motivating students to achieve their potential in English.

*

Excellent communication, organizational, and classroom management skills.

*

A valid Enhanced DBS check (or willingness to apply for one).

*

The ability to work independently and collaboratively as part of a team.
