National Fleet & Compliance Manager

Requirement to be in Wiltshire 2-3 days per week plus UK travel

What this role is:

An opportunity to join a multiple award-winning, progressive business with an impressive track record in sustainable logistics operations. Reporting to the Head of Transport, you’ll oversee all fleet operations across a large fleet for this dynamic business, ensuring excellence in vehicle maintenance, operational efficiency and compliance with all relevant legal and safety regulations.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Fleet Management: Oversee vehicle acquisition, maintenance and disposal. Implement policies, manage providers, reduce costs and optimise fuel use.
  • Compliance: Ensure operations comply with all regulations. Conduct audits, develop training programmes for drivers, and address non-compliance issues.
  • Team Leadership: Lead and develop the fleet and compliance team. Foster a culture of safety and continuous improvement.
  • Customer Relations: Be the primary contact for fleet-related customer needs. Build strong relationships and ensure satisfaction.
  • Operational Performance: Manage the fleet budget, report on expenses, and recommend procurement strategies. Analyse data to drive improvements.

About You:

  • Experienced Fleet & Compliance professional with strong stakeholder management skills.
  • Proven ability to implement strategies for improved performance & efficiency.
  • National CPC holder (essential).
  • Experience managing budgets and driving financial performance and accountability through teams.
  • A passion for safety, compliance, and continuous improvement.

Bonus Points:

  • Experience managing in large-scale transport operations.
  • Knowledge of central transport functions & systems.
  • Experience implementing process improvements.
  • Mechanical Engineering or Vehicle Management qualification.
