We are currently recruiting a Band 6 Occupational Therapist for an NHS Trust in the West Midlands. This is a fantastic opportunity for an experienced and motivated professional to join a dynamic team dedicated to providing high-quality care and support to patients.

Description:

We are looking for an enthusiastic, self-motivated, and innovative Occupational Therapist who is driven to implement change and service development while expanding their own and others' knowledge and skills across the service. You will need a flexible approach, excellent teamwork, organizational, and time management skills.

  • Discuss with a mentor/supervisor during regular supervision the organizing and planning of your own caseload to meet service and patient priorities, readjusting plans as situations change, and where appropriate, delegate tasks to appropriate Therapy staff.
  • Actively participate in the in-service training program, including attendance at tutorials, individual training sessions, external courses, and peer reviews.
  • Contribute to the performance assessment and appraisal of newly qualified Occupational Therapy and Assistant Practitioner staff.
  • Lead by example, providing support, guidance, and training to Occupational Therapy staff, and assess and evaluate their competence.
  • Exercise good personal time management, punctuality, consistent and reliable attendance, and adhere to all Trust and departmental policies for notification of absence.
  • Comply with all organizational and departmental policies and procedures, completing appropriate documentation.
  • Answer the telephone, record messages, and take action as necessary.
  • Communicate with external agencies regarding patient assessments, treatment, rehabilitation, and, if necessary, the provision of equipment.
  • Support the supervision and coordination of junior staff, students, and Assistant Practitioner staff.

Requirements:

  • Registered with the Health and Care Professions Council (HCPC).
  • Evidence of professional development.
  • Previous community experience.
  • Experience working in a multidisciplinary team (MDT).
  • Completed a minimum of one rotation providing cover to Acute Medical Wards.
  • Possess knowledge and skills for assessing and treating clients in a wide range of clinical settings.
  • Understanding of clinical governance and audit.
