Senior Mechanical & Utilities Supervisor | Elton | Permanent | £50,000 - £55,000

As the Senior Mechanical & Utilities Supervisor you will report directly to the Engineering Manager within the General Maintenance Team. Your duties will include ensuing the safe completion of reactive mechanical maintenance on all plant equipment to reduce MTTR in efforts to minimise production down time. You will also have the ability to identify and use the appropriate test equipment to diagnose malfunctioning systems and be able to fault find and repair to component level. You will have experience in welding (Arc, MIG, TIG), mechanical bench fitting and replacing mechanical components. Including but not limited to, gearboxes, conveyor belts and valves assemblies.

The main areas of responsibility are:

  • The supervision of the Utilities team and systems
  • Maintenance planning
  • Budget control
  • Personnel support and management
  • Project management for varying sized projects within Engineering scope
  • Supervision of the Maintenance Coordinator and overall responsibility of the Prisma CMMS system

The Key Requirements

  • Knowledge of Utilities equipment such as Compressors, Vacuum Pumps, Gas distribution as well as Water treatment and cooling systems
  • Time served mechanical/ electrical engineering technician - Level 4 / HNC / City Guilds qualified
  • Project Management Experience
