Reed Education is working with an independent SEN school in Lewes to find a dedicated and experienced Maths Teacher to join their well-established team from September 2024. This role is ideal for a candidate with a strong background in SEN and a passion for nurturing and supporting young individuals with mild learning difficulties and associated behavioural challenges.

• Deliver engaging Maths lessons and occasionally cover other subjects as required.
• Create a supportive and inclusive classroom environment that caters to the individual needs of students with mild learning difficulties and emotional/social issues.
• Employ effective classroom management strategies to handle challenging behaviours calmly and successfully.
• Collaborate with other staff members to plan and coordinate lessons and activities.
• Monitor and assess student progress, adapting teaching methods to suit different learning styles.
• Provide regular feedback to students, parents, and guardians to support student development.

• SEN teaching experience, with Maths as the main subject expertise.
• Ability to manage and teach students with challenging behaviours and special educational needs.
• Minimum of five years’ experience in special needs education is preferred.
• Physical fitness and empathy towards young people.
• Must have entitlement to work in the UK.
• Provide proof of address and a DBS on the update service.
• Able to supply 2 years’ worth of references.
