An exciting opportunity has arisen at a GM Local Authority for a Corporate Property Services Manager. This role is pivotal in the strategic expansion of the Corporate Property team, which is central to delivering on the Strategic Asset Management Plan (SAMP) and supporting the Council’s impressive regeneration programme.

Day to Day of the role:
  • Lead on the management and monitoring of contract performance, ensuring the provision of robust mechanisms for establishing and monitoring the standards and effectiveness of contracts.
  • Manage the Council’s PFI contract(s), engaging with relevant parties to ensure that services are delivered in accordance with the contract terms and conditions.
  • Work with third-party contractors to ensure that service delivery contracts are fit for purpose and fully managed.
  • Develop and operate risk management and escalation processes to address performance issues and maximise customer satisfaction.
  • Manage large scale contract budgets and ensure contractual compliance with statutory legislative requirements and Council policies.
  • Maintain excellent relationships with the Council’s partner(s) and associated supply chain partners, acting as the primary liaison for key stakeholders.
  • Develop and implement regular communications across the Council to provide education and awareness of projects and identify process improvements for continuous service enhancement.
  • Lead on Freedom of Information for the Corporate Property service, ensuring facilitation and liaison is carried out in a timely manner.
Required Skills & Qualifications:
  • Extensive knowledge of statutory requirements, legal obligations, and relevant policy affecting property management in local government.
  • Extensive working knowledge of contract management and performance monitoring in a commercial setting.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects, programmes, or services and prepare and manage large budgets.
  • Excellent communication skills to engage with a variety of clients, service areas, end users, senior management, and elected Members.
  • Proficient report writing skills and the ability to manage supply chain partners for the commissioning of services.
  • Knowledge of Local Authority culture, procedures, and systems, including the political environment.
  • Excellent ICT skills and the ability to lead the development of information technology systems and software.
