The Change Foundation is a vibrant charity that has used sport to change the lives of disadvantaged young people for over 43 years. We run a variety of programmes such as Netball for Change, which uses sport to teach girls about the dangers of social media and Street Elite is a multi-award-winning training for work programme that uses sport and intensive mentoring to support young people who've been impacted by crime, violence and inequality. This programme supports young people into secure education, employment or training opportunities. Our income comes mainly from grants and corporate partners, also from hiring out the centre and fundraising with different events and challenges.

The main purpose of this role is to ensure the smooth running of the Change Foundation's Charity Headquarters and its administration systems. You will be at the centre of the communication hub for staff and to promote positive and professional relations with all stakeholders who deal with the charity and the cricket centre. You will also support administrative processes to ensure that the charity delivers its work effectively.

What you will do:

  • Responsibility for the office and manage centre bookings, including being a designated key holder and to welcome visitors to the Centre.
  • Managing the smooth operation of Centre with maintenance, repairs and improvements as well as managing all Centre staff (including cleaning, grounds and event staff).
  • Playing an active part in the annual audit and producing information and evidence as required to support the Head of Finance by processing expenses, supplier invoices, raising invoices on Xero.
  • Ensuring governance requirements are met as set out by Charity Commission and Companies House statues.
  • Processing online banking and reconciling takings.
  • Assisting the Head of Finance with HR duties (DBS, monthly payroll, contracts, starters and leavers etc)
  • Supporting Trustee meetings by taking minutes quarterly.
  • Overseeing the running of the indoor cricket school by checking the bookings, manage the casual staff who work out of hours.
  • Supporting the hire or use of the centre and set up tea and coffee making facilities as required and clear up after use.
  • Ensuring all rooms in the Cricket Centre are kept clean and tidy and to report and deal with any issues, for example dealing with non-collections of refuse, blocked drains or damages to the buildings, fences or grounds, burglar alarm etc.
  • Managing all other office requirements including the post daily, open the post and deal or file accordingly and purchasing subsistence items for the Centre.
  • To be a fire Marshall and first aider.

About you:

  • Previous experience of working within a Charity or similar role would be an advantage
  • Knowledge of Bookkeeping/Xero
  • Excellent communication and organisation skills
  • First rate customer service skills
  • Excellent IT skills, including Microsoft Office
  • Self-motivated with the ability to use own initiative
  • The ability to multi-task and work under pressure
  • Positive with an enthusiastic, can-do attitude to work
  • Previous experience of booking and managing events
