You will be working through the entire project life cycle from communicating with the customer and advising on automation solutions, all the way through to designing, building and commissioning on site.

Controls Engineer - The Role:
⦁ Specify, design, program and maintain control systems including PLC, HMIs, network and drives.
⦁ Predominantly working with Omron and Siemens PLC software.
⦁ Upgrading existing systems with new automation solutions.
⦁ Involvement or leading in designing electrical projects to a customer specification.
⦁ Involvement or leading in writing PLC code to a customer software specification.
⦁ Carry out installation and commissioning of new, bespoke automation solutions.
⦁ Sourcing and specifying appropriate components.
⦁ UK wide commissioning role.
Controls Engineer - The Person:
⦁ Formal engineering qualifications, HNC or above.
⦁ A strong background in PLC/HMI design through to commissioning.
⦁ Experience in programming PLCs in structured text advantageous.
⦁ Use of servo motion in PLC programs is required.
⦁ Robotics programming experience is desirable, preferably on Fanuc and Staubli.
⦁ Experience of bespoke machinery automation would be highly advantageous.
⦁ Willing to travel throughout the UK for commissioning activities - 20% travel.
This position is based in West Yorkshire so suitable for candidates located in Leeds, Bradford, Keighley, Halifax and surrounding areas. This position does also offer Hybrid working on occasions so may be suitable for candidates located slightly further away.
