Learning Support Assistant to include Personal and Medical Care Support

Learning Support Assistant (cover needed until July 2025, term time only)
Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday - 8.30am - 2.30pm, Thursday - 8.30am - 1.30pmAcademics are seeking to appoint an enthusiastic and experienced Learning Support Assistant who can work alongside non-verbal complex needs students aged 14-25 years on a 1:1 or 2:1 basis. The role can include personal care. The role will entail supporting student's education, care and medical needs. You must have a minimum of 2 years education work experience in the UK. The college is based in central Birmingham and it is for an immediate start.

Essential/Desirable:

NNEB/ NVQ 3 /BTEC or other relevant Level 3 childcare qualification essential (or equivalent)
GCSE Maths & English Pass or Reading & Writing Skills and Numeracy Skills NVQ Level 2 essential
Ability to work positively with parents, staff and other professionals to improve the support for students essential
SEN experience and positive behaviour management expertise desirable
Recent experience of working with children in a learning environment desirable
Medical care experience desirable
Basic knowledge of First Aid desirable

**£80-£90 per day, PAYE, term time only**

Academics requires all candidates to have a fully enhanced DBS check, minimum of two references plus a face to face interview
