Floating Support WorkerLOCATIONS:           Westminster  SALARY:                  £14.49 BasicDURATION:6 months  HOURS:                         37.5 hours per week (Monday – Friday | 9am to 5pmWE ARE UNABLE TO PROVIDE SPONSORSHIP OR SUPPORT THOSE ON A SKILLED WORKER VISA.Please note: this is a floating support role. You'll be supporting clients within the Westminster borough and across London.Daily Duties
  • Hold a caseload of up to 15 key clients and carry out regular key working sessions resulting in Support Plans that are client-led and reviewed regularly
  • Produce comprehensive and high-quality risk assessments and risk management plans.
  • Assist clients to access support services to meet their needs, considering proactive approaches with services and institutions across the community and act as an advocate for the client where appropriate.
  • Assist and empower clients to develop life skills and participate in activities to promote increased independence and involvement with the community.
  • Support clients with identification and application to suitable employment, training or education opportunities.
  • Participate in information advice and guidance and client 'drop-in' sessions.
  • Provide housing advice to clients in order for them to maintain their tenancies including advising clients of their rights and responsibilities as well as advocating on their behalf as necessary.
  • Support clients to upskill regarding daily living skills, to enable them to sustain their accommodation independently, including bill management and household management.
  • Support clients to develop and maintain the social skills necessary to ensure positive neighbourhood relationships are developed and maintained.
  • Manage referrals coming into the service, ensuring that they meet the service criteria and are assessed and allocated in a timely way.
  • Minimise risks to clients by identifying, reporting and following up any safeguarding concerns and incidents
 Essential requirements
  • DBS on the update service
  • Experience of working with complex needs including homelessness and substance misuse.
  • Understanding and experience of working with the issues faced by people who experience mental ill health, substance use issues and who have offending histories, in accessing the appropriate support from services.
  • A good and current understanding of safeguarding issues and procedures.
  • Working knowledge of best practices to support individuals who may be classified as 'experiencing multiple disadvantage' including Trauma Informed Approaches.
  • Experience working as part of a multi-agency partnership to address complex problems and bring about positive change
  • Ability to develop relationships with people who find it difficult to engage and to work with clients who may have a low level of interaction with services and who may be sceptical about their value.
  • Knowledge of relevant housing, health and social justice legislation, policy and best practice relevant to systems change and people with multiple needs
