We are currently recruiting on behalf of our client for an experienced Housing Officer on a three month temporary contract offering a negotiable hourly rate. The patches/office are across the West & North of Yorkshire. The successful candidate will join the Housing team to provide an effective and responsive housing management service & assist in the delivery of excellent customer focused services.

Day to day duties will include:

  • Responding to customer enquiries relating to their tenancy such as relationship breakdown, request to exchange property with another tenant and succession queries
  • Investigate and resolve any breach of tenancy such as untidy gardens  Identify any support requirements and make appropriate referrals
  • Respond promptly to reports of ASB within the agreed service standards and take the lead for dealing with ASB issues on the patch
  • Investigate reports thoroughly taking into account the individual needs and vulnerabilities of both victims and perpetrators
  • Support the Tenancy Relations Coordinator when dealing with more serious cases of ASB
  • Participate in external meetings with the Police and others as and when required
  • Undertake routine estate inspections across the patch with Local Monitors where applicable at an agreed frequency
  • Accurately record all estate inspections and complete any relevant follow-up works on an on-going basis
  • Identify any areas for environmental improvement works in partnership with colleagues in the Property Services
  • Ensure properties are let promptly and efficiently when they become void through effective communications with the Choice Based Lettings team (CBL) and colleagues in the Property Services
  • Undertake viewings with potential customers and liaise with colleagues within the Income Team to carry out pre-tenancy interviews where required and their attendance at sign-up
  • Work closely with colleagues within the Income Team to ensure that customers understand their responsibility to pay their rent
  • Undertake visits to discuss rent arrears when requested to do so and to assist in general Shared ownership, and rent to buy properties
