Your New Role as Accounts Assistant:

As an Accounts Assistant, you will support the accounting team in the preparation of accounts and other financial duties. You will work across a range of clients, assisting with bookkeeping, VAT returns, and the preparation of financial statements. This role will provide hands-on experience in a fast-paced environment, helping to build your skills as you support both the internal team and clients with their financial needs.

Main Responsibilities:

In this role, you will maintain accurate financial records, assist with processing invoices, and prepare VAT returns. You will also support with the production of year-end accounts and assist senior accountants with client queries. Additionally, you will handle general bookkeeping duties and ensure compliance with relevant accounting standards and regulations.

The Experience & Qualifications Required:

The successful candidate will have experience in a similar accounting role, ideally within a practice environment. You should have a strong understanding of bookkeeping, VAT returns, and basic accounting principles. Experience with accounting software is essential, and working towards an AAT qualification or equivalent would be beneficial but not required. Strong communication and organisational skills are also key for this role.
