THE ROLE & KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

*

The Senior Mechanical Design Engineer will manage engineering projects and the operational activity of a small engineering team on a day-to-day basis, to ensure that the projects are delivered on time and to a budget.

*

The Senior Mechanical Design Engineer will be responsible for leading the project from a technical perspective.

*

They will play a key role in supporting the training and development of less experienced team member.

*

The Senior Mechanical Design Engineer will manage coordination and supervision of a small team, checking the work of less experienced staff, in accordance with Operational Procedures.

*

They will pro-actively manage their own professional development within the framework provided by accredited training agreements.

*

The Senior Mechanical Design EngineerAttend and participate in client (internal and external) project meetings.

*

Undertake site visits to monitor the progress of works against specifications and highlight issues to the contractor.

*

Produce engineering designs, calculations and specifications using appropriate software.

*

Attend and participate in client (internal and external) project meetings.

SKILLS AND BACKGROUND

*

Bachelor's degree level or higher in a relevant discipline.

*

Proven technical competence and experience.

*

Ability to plan and programme own work and that of of others.

*

Demonstrate commitment to supporting the professional development of less experienced staff, by effective mentoring and coaching of less experienced staff
