We're currently recruiting for a standalone Finance Manager on behalf of an organisation that is part of a larger international group. The successful candidate will monitor and manage the day-to-day financial operations within the company and report to group in Germany, as well as providing insightful analytical information to the Managing Director you will have line management responsibility for two members of staff.

This is an interesting and varied role and presents a wonderful opportunity to join an enterprising and cohesive team, with the joint vision of driving forward the continued growth and success of the company.

Duties and responsibilities:

Line responsibility for 2 members of staff
Review financial data and prepare monthly P&L, cashflow and variance analysis reports and present in formal meetings to Managing Director
Prepare monthly financial analysis to budget and previous year comparisons and upload into Group accounting software with relevant notes
Year-end reporting requirements and work with external auditor for group audit requirements
Compilation of payroll for the accountant along with payroll journals and submission of payments to HMRC
Day-to-day transactional accounting sales ledger and purchase ledger
Payment runs to both intercompany and 3rd party suppliers
Multi-currency accounting and reporting
Review of VAT returns (completed at Head Office) within the legal deadline dates for both UK & Ireland Tax authorities
Provide monthly insight around costs and any associated variance
Reviewing and processing employee expenses and credit card expenses
Work with MD on 3rd party warehousing requirements and SLA's
Import and export regulatory compliance and relevant incoterms with freight forwarders or carriers
First port of call for HR and IT related matters and liaison with 3rd party IT & HR Support
'Hands on approach' to assisting other areas of the business as working within a small but growing team

Skills and experience required:

QBE or relevant accounting qualification
Over 3 years' experience within a similar standalone role
Good working knowledge of Excel (Pivot tables / Vlookups) and accountancy software Dynamics 365 desirable
Technically knowledgeable along with good commercial acumen
Demonstrates a growth mindset and an interest in seeing the role and business develop
