Learning Support Department at an amazing Independent School seeks a qualified, dedicated, and enthusiastic Learning Support Assistant to support a child with autism and speech and language delay in the nursery setting.

This one-to-one role is essential in fostering the child's communication, interaction, and overall engagement, ensuring they thrive in all aspects of nursery life.

About the role:

- Supporting a child with autism and speech and language delay in the nursery setting

- Working one-to-one to foster communication, interaction, and engagement

- Assisting with academic and emotional support for the child

- Remaining sensitive to the child's needs at all times

- Willingness to learn and adapt to help the child succeed

- Knowledge of Makaton and experience with the TEACCH approach desirable

Requirements:

- Experience working in the Early Years Foundation Stage

- Experience working with children with autism and/or speech and language delay

- Commitment to supporting the child both academically and emotionally

- Flexibility and adaptability in working methods

- Willingness to learn new skills to assist the child - Knowledge of Makaton and experience with the TEACCH approach (desirable)
