Our client wants someone to provide engineering design and support functions, under instruction of more senior engineers.
As an Electrical Design Engineer you will have the following benefits:
- 37 hours per week (Mon-Thurs 8.30am to 4:30pm, Friday 4pm finish)
- Based onsite Kirkbymoorside (Hybrid/home working unavailable)

Electrical Design Engineer job description:
- Provide design input on projects, using the technical competencies listed below.
- Produce engineering designs, specifications, and documentation to ISO 9001.
- Assist in the preparation of operating and maintenance manuals.
- Offsite engineering support for new products.
- Assist sales and marketing in the preparation of quotes and proposals.
- Provide technical support to the production, logistics and integration departments.
- Ensure the suitability of the engineering aspects of company products for their function.
- Prompt replies to production, logistical and technical support questions.
- Provide design input on all projects as required, within the timescales set by the company.
Education/Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Electrical or Electronic Engineering or related/equivalent subject (lesser qualifications coupled with suitable design experience may be considered in exceptional circumstances)
Key Skills:
- Power distribution and protection equipment.
- Communication systems and protocols (RS232, RS485, SPI, I²C, Ethernet, etc.).
- Industrial sensors and equipment.
- PCB manufacturing breadboard prototyping using soldering iron and handtools.
- Design of analogue and digital electronic circuits.
- Inspection, testing and certification requirements.
- Ergonomics.
- Completing and checking designs and documentation
- Safety conscious, attentive to QHS&E policies and regulations (ISO 9001 QA systems).
- Sound engineering knowledge.
- Technical drawing competence as defined above.
- Flexibility, adaptability and professionalism, with the ability to work cooperatively as part of a multidiscipline team or individually on projects.
- Software skills, Microsoft Office Suite, AutoCAD/DraftSight and conversant with Mathcad.
- Willingness to learn new engineering skills.
