Salary: £50000 - £55000/annum + car + bonus

Our client is a stalwart of the UK Removals and Storage Industry—a multi-branch, long-term BAR member with a great reputation for quality.

They are now seeking an experienced Branch Manager to join their team in SW London.

This role requires proven experience in the removals industry. The successful candidate will take overall responsibility for the branch's success and profitability by setting, implementing, and achieving objectives and targets.

Strong leadership is essential, as the role involves managing and motivating the branch team to consistently deliver a world-class removals service.

Additionally, the Branch Manager will ensure the company complies with all legal responsibilities related to operating standards. This includes maintaining high standards in Health and Safety, adhering to transport legislation, and keeping accurate maintenance records.

A full clean driving license is essential.

Responsibilities:

Sales & Business Development:

* Monitor branch performance, including KPIs, and ensure accurate reporting of monthly profit and loss.

* Manage Branch Profit and Loss, including gross profit, cost control, and net profit.

* Maintain competitive awareness, conduct market analysis, and identify new business opportunities.

* Negotiate quality business deals, write proposals/tenders, and close contracts with clients/suppliers.

* Develop advertising & marketing plans, place ads, and monitor advertising spend.

* Conduct client visits, develop strong relationships, and identify client needs/satisfaction.

* Perform quarterly & annual client spending analysis and review margins based on company targets.

* Create business and action plans, set quarterly & annual objectives, and perform monthly forecasting.

* Secure new business (residential, commercial, and international), including prospecting & lead generation.

Operations:

* Ensure legal compliance with VOSA, including maintenance, driver hours, defect reporting, and record-keeping.

* Ensure company premises security & maintenance to protect company and customer assets.

* Manage operating costs and optimize resource utilization for maximum efficiency.

* Identify staff training needs and discuss development plans with employees and the Managing Director.

People Management:

* Commit to continuous professional development and performance management.

* Set, monitor, and review quarterly & annual targets for staff and conduct regular staff performance reviews, including annual appraisals & KPI evaluations.

* Hold weekly team meetings, address issues, monitor attendance, and provide feedback.

* Handle staff recruitment, inductions, training, and compliance with Health & Safety legislation.

Additional Responsibilities:

* Perform auditing & quality control checks to maintain service standards.

* Ensure day-to-day credit control is effectively managed.

* Liaise with the Line Manager regarding performance issues and corrective actions.

* Resource branch efficiently, including succession planning & recruitment.

Skills & Qualifications:

* Degree or equivalent

* National & International CPC holder (desirable)

* Domestic & Commercial Moving expertise

* Knowledge of Transport & Health & Safety Legislation, Fleet, and Maintenance Records

* Strong sales, negotiation & commitment-gaining skills

* Proactive and business-driven mindset

* Experience in managing profit and loss accounts
