HGV Class 1 Livehaul Drivers - Brackley
We're hiring for one of the UK's largest food businesses, playing a crucial role in keeping the nation fed. If you're an experienced Class 1 driver, this is a great opportunity to join our team based in Brackley.
Hours and Shifts:
• Hourly rate: Starting from £17.90, plus £0.50 bonus per hour when transporting livestock.
• Unsociable hours premium: Additional £1.25 per hour for shifts between 18:00 - 06:00, including weekends.
• Guaranteed hours: 50 hours per week, with paid overtime and breaks.
• Shift pattern: Sunday - Thursday, rotating start times.
• Earnings: Minimum annual salary of £47,840, with potential for higher earnings depending on hours worked.
Role Overview: As a Class 1 Driver, your primary responsibility will be to transport live poultry safely while ensuring their welfare. You'll also maintain accurate driver records, conduct vehicle checks, and communicate with the transport office.
Key Responsibilities:
• Collect and deliver livestock from farms to the Brackley site.
• Ensure load security and constant monitoring of bird welfare.
• Transport finished, refrigerated goods nationwide as needed.
• Complete relevant paperwork, including weighbridge slips and poultry transport certificates.
• Provide shunting cover when required.
• Maintain communication with the transport office regarding any delays or issues.
• Adhere to Health and Safety regulations and wear provided PPE.
Requirements:
• Minimum 6 months of Class 1 driving experience.
• Valid CPC and Tacho Card.
• No more than 9 points on your driving license.
• Strong understanding of driver regulations.
• Flexibility and a positive, proactive approach.
Training: Full Livehaul training will be provided.
