Due to sustained growth, they are seeking a Consultant Arboriculturist to join their team in Dorking. This role offers an excellent opportunity to apply your skills to impactful projects while furthering your professional development.

Key Responsibilities

As a Consultant Arboriculturist, you will manage and contribute to a diverse portfolio of projects. Your work will include:

  • Conducting tree surveys and producing technical reports in line with BS 5837:2012 standards.
  • Preparing Arboricultural Impact Assessments, Arboricultural Method Statements, and Tree Protection Plans.
  • Assessing tree health, conducting hazard evaluations, and performing risk surveys.
  • Supervising on-site tree protection measures during construction activities.
  • Providing expert arboricultural advice to clients, supported by data collection and analysis.
  • Mentoring junior staff and collaborating with multidisciplinary teams to deliver projects successfully.

Required Skills and Experience

To excel in this role as an Arboriculturalist, you should possess:

  • A Level 3 or higher qualification in arboriculture, forestry, or a related environmental discipline.
  • Demonstrable consultancy experience, including tree surveys, technical reporting, and client liaison.
  • In-depth knowledge of BS 5837:2012 and other relevant standards.
  • Proficiency in GIS, AutoCAD, or related software (training can be provided if necessary).
  • Strong report writing and analytical skills.
  • A valid UK driving licence and access to a vehicle.

Desirable Attributes

  • Membership in a professional body such as the Arboricultural Association or the Royal Forestry Society.
  • Experience with tree hazard assessments or practical tree management.
  • Familiarity with ecology, conservation, or planning process.
