This role offers an opportunity to engage deeply in the operational and strategic decisions of the firm, making it ideal for someone with a strong interest in the business aspects of legal practice.Key Responsibilities:

• Oversee the performance, welfare, compliance, and training of the Criminal Law team
• Manage the department’s caseload, ensuring high-quality client representation
• Maintain control over the income and expenditure of the department
• Drive efficiency, effectiveness, and growth within the department
• Ensure regulatory and statutory compliance across all departmental activities
• Collaborate with Directors on firm-wide business decisions

Requirements:

• Extensive experience as a Criminal Solicitor, capable of handling an independent caseload
• Strong leadership skills with the enthusiasm to motivate and develop team members
• Business acumen with an interest in the operational and financial aspects of legal practice
• Commitment to regulatory compliance and high standards of client care
• Strategic thinker with a proactive approach to department growth and client acquisition
